PATNA: Girls once again outsmarted boys by faring better in the Intermediate Arts examination conducted by the Bihar Intermediate Education Council.
The results for the three divisions of Tirhut, Bhagalpur and Munger were declared here on Saturday. The result of the Tirhut division was the best with 97.58 per cent candidates passing the examination.
Out of the 23,874 examinees, who appeared in the examination, 22,300 passed.

While 6,093 examinees secured first division, 14,035 examinees obtained second division and 2,149 third division.
In the Tirhut division, the pass percentage of girls was 97.80 while the pass percentage of boys was 97.41. Out of the 12,835 candidates, who appeared in the examination, 4,349 candidates obtained first division marks, 7,718 candidates secured second division and 444 examinees secured third division.
In the Bhagalpur division, a total of 4,924 examinees had appeared in the examination out of which 3,986 candidates passed. While the pass percentage of girls was 84.63, the pass percentage of boys was 78.08. While 251 candidates got first division marks, 2,578 candidates secured second division marks and 1,152 candidates obtained third division marks.
A total of 6,115 candidates had appeared in the examination from the Munger division out of which 5,789 candidates passed. The pass percentage of girls was 95.64 and that of boys 93.82.
